Purpose
From Informationism.org
The main purpose of Informationism.org is to help people promote their interests, where it complies with the policy of this site. This means a conscious intention to promote and reproduce that which is culturally and otherwise 'of' you, e.g from and relevant to you. This derives from a philosophy of Informationism, which may or may not believe. However, you don't have to have any particular beliefs to use this site.
Basically if you have any use for this site and you're willing to abide by the policy then you're welcome to use this site for whatever you want.
Secondary purposes include (but are not limited to)
- To provide an alternative to Wikipedia
- Promoting the Philosophy of Informationism
Why to use this site
One important reason you may have to use this site is that it isn't Wikipedia! Those rules don't apply here. There's some other rules, but in general it's almost completely free especially on the user pages. You can also have as many user pages as you like. Simply go to your user page (you have to be logged in) and add the name of the page you want to create to the end of the URL. e.g http://www.informationism.org/index.php?title=User:username_newpage
My user page is:
http://www.informationism.org/index.php?title=User:Informa3
So, if I wanted to create my own private blog on the site, then I would put it at:
http://www.informationism.org/index.php?title=User:Informa3_blog
This URL would identify the user in the URL as primarily responsible for the the content of the page and the user in the URL would then allow other users to make changes at the user in the URLs digression
